Life moves at twice the normal speed on campus. You might be in the first year now but in the blink of an eye it will be time to graduate. These three-four years are the best of your life and they come only once. So, the last thing you need after graduating after is to look back with regrets at the things you didn’t do in college. I’ve prepared a to-do for you to do in college:A college education shows a man how little other people know. Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself.
1.
Go for a
batch trip: You might get to go on a world trip after graduating,
but it might not be as special as a trip with your batch mates. Even if it is
the nearby hangout place or a nearby town. It is a great opportunity to make new
friends.
2.
Represent
your college: Be it debating, singing, dancing, quiz, creative
writing, poster painting, soccer or any other contests…. Represent your college
at fests at least once. Getting the chance s a matter of great pride. And the
memories- the fun, the fights, the tears, the bonding, the professionalism-
will be some of the best you will ever have.
3.
Learn
something useful and fun in college: Like dancing, a new programming
language or even a part time job. It is never a bad thing to add more things to
your resume. Is it?
4.
Experience hostel
life: You might miss the delicacies your mother cooked for you every
weekend and you might hate washing your own clothes but you might gain a whole
new family for the rest of your life. Those who don’t need to stay in the
hostel should hang out with their friends in the hostel for a slice of that DIY
(DO-IT-YOURSLF) action.
5.
Do an internship: Make use of the free time during term breaks
by doing an internship. It is the best way to find out if you are actually cut
out for the career you think you want, it lets you experience a workplace by
providing for a more informed choice and at same time adds to your resume.
6.
Learn a new
language: Get off your lazy bum and get yourself enrolled in a
language class. It is not just a great way to spend your spare time but a great
addition to your resume. This is the best time to learn it because you never
know when you will get this much of free time.
7.
Visit the
college library: This is a must- at least once- unless you want to
spend the rest of your life knowing that there is a part of your college you
have never been to.
8.
Hang out
with your college professor: Getting to know a whole new ‘cool’ side
of your professor who you had thought of to be cranky and boring is something
very few get to experience. But it is definitely everyone should try doing in
college.
9.
Read great
books and watch inspirational movies: Lots of these have to be read
and watched, even good if the books are philosophical and the movies documentary.
They not only improve your creative writing but also helps your brain to think
out of the box and even tear it down!!
10.
Write a
diary or maintain a blog: A diary or a blog written by you about the
daily happenings of your college life. Your kids can read it and think how
interesting (or boring!) Life their
father or mother had lived. And if it is an inspiring and truly interesting one
you can even convert it into a book.
11.
Ask the girl
or boy you have always liked out on a date: Getting rejected is
better than regretting not having taken the chance. At least take a shot. If
you get turned down, trust me, you aren’t the first person to get rejected and
neither will you be the last one.
12.
Do something
great: What a great feeling it is when you speak highly of one of
your great achievements in college on a reunion or suddenly an old college
friend bumps into you and doesn’t stop praising you. Your friends will be left
jaw-dropped and you wife flattered. So, try to do a great thing in your
college.
This
is the to-do list you try to complete and see your way to success. If you have
something to add to this list please comment or contact me. Lots of love and enjoy
reading.
